July 9th, Campo Pequino, Lisbon, Portugal.

'Enfusion...the final tour'
Fight Sport MC, Dougie McAdam was delighted to be asked to present this most prestigious event. 'Enfusion' is a fight based reality tv show where sixteen of the worlds top fighters lived and trained together in Thailand. Each week, two would fight and one would leave the competition until finally only four would remain.
These four fighters met again in Portugal's capital city Lisbon, to determine who would be crowned 'Enfusion 2010 Champion' and receive a cheque for $40,000.
'Campo Pequino' was the venue chosen to host this final event. A beautiful twelve thousand capacity venue in the heart of Lisbon. This structure was built in 1892 and is Portugal's famous indoor bull ring.
As this was a '4-Man' tournament, there would be two semi-final fights with each winner moving forward to face each other in the final.
England's Rick Barnhill made it to the semi final but unfortunately was beaten by eventual winner Gago Drago.
Drago is a real fans favourite in Europe and for anyone who has never seen his fight entrance...it's worth a look on youtube!

July 4th, Superfly 8 Man, Liverpool

This 'For the Glory of' promotion was definitely one of the most exciting events of the year. Headlining this show was the hugely popular 8 Man Eliminator tournament. Thai veteran Deakhalon Sinbigym was declared overall winner but biggest respect goes to other finalist Keith McLachlin who was a late replacement, gave away vast experience but won his two previous fights by stoppage. Well done Keith! Big thanks to Simon and Kerry at Saphire gym for once again having Douglas Mcadam of Fight Sport MC present their show.

June 26th, 'Saturday Night Carnage', Grangemouth.

Fight Sport MC would like to thank everyone at 'Carnage Muay Thai' for having Douglas McAdam present their maiden event. This well run show was thoroughly enjoyed by the sell-out audience in Grangemouth's Bowhouse Community Centre.

June 20th, 'Rising at the Reebok', Reebok Stadium, Bolton.

Fight Sport MC would like to thank everyone at Fight-Inc for once again having Douglas McAdam return to what is fast becoming his favourite venue, this time to present their C and B Class novice Muay Thai show. The 'Rising' concept (developed by Fight-Inc) is the 'sister show' to the hugely popular 'Rumble at the Reebok' event and is designed to provide a fabulous platform to showcase Muay Thai's stars of tomorrow. This was a fabulous event which although could not match 'Rumble' for breathtaking production, it was executed with the same driven professionalism that is to be expected from the Fight-Inc team.
For anyone who missed the last 'Rumble' event, please see my media page for a highlight video and make sure to keep an eye on my diary for the next event (rumoured to be October 9th).

June 19th, 'Last Man Standing', Liquid Nightclub, Aberdeen.

Fight Sport MC would like to thank Keith Middleton and eveyone at Aberdeen Muay Thai for having Dougie present their second sell-out show to date. The 'Liquid' Night Club in Aberdeen's city centre proved to be a cracking venue and provided a really great atmosphere. Main event was the hugely popular '8 Man' tournament format which delivered all the usual elements of surprise and excitement. Big congratulations to the finalists Mescho Dunko and eventual winner Chris Moir. Fight Sport MC looks forward to Aberdeen Muay Thai's next event at the end of the year.

Announcement : Fri July 9th, Enfusion Final, Lisbon, Portugal

Fight Sport MC is delighted to announce that Douglas McAdam has just been confirmed as presenter of the live 'Enfusion' finals in Portugal's capital city Lisbon, next month.
Dougie says "This event is the culmination of a fabulous Muay Thai reality TV show and the main event will feature a '4 man' tournament with the winner receiving a cheque for £40K.
This is a wonderful opportunity for me to present to a new audience and this could lead to great opportunities."

May 29th, Excel Arena London, 'Muay Thai Premier League'

Fight Sport MC would like to thank Dan Green, Laura Doyle, Swee Lip and Fui Mee Quek of 'Muay Thai Premier League' for once again having Dougie present their outstanding Muay Thai event.
Headlining this supershow was Thai SUPERSTAR Fighter and K1 Champion, Buakaw Por Pramuk. Facing Buakaw was the hugely talented Jordan Watson from the Bad Company gym in Leeds.
This fight lived up to all hype and expectations and Dougie says "I've never heard a crowd make so much noise before". Congratulation to Jordan Watson who although did not get the decision, he made a real fight of it, taking Buakaw the distance and planting himself firmly on the world map.

May 15th, Reebok Stadium Bolton, 'Rumble at the Reebok'

Fight Sport MC would like to thank everyone at Fight-Inc for having Dougie to present one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Muay Thai Calendar. This, the second installment of the Rumble at the Reebok (RATR) concept had a lot to live up to after their inaugural show last year but boy...did this deliver!
Headlining this sellout event was the much awaited 'local derby' between two Manchester Champions and Muay Thai veterans, Andy Thrasher of GFC and Frankie Hudders of Franks Gym. In what was a hugely exciting bout, Frankie's head made contact with the canvas forcing the referee to stop the contest bagging Andy Thrasher his second World Title.
Congratulations to Andy (without doubt one of the nicest guys in the sport) and Fight Sport MC is already looking forward to the next 'RATR' event scheduled for October 10th this year.

May 14th, Waterside Social Club, 'Friday Fight Night'

Fight Sport MC would like to thank Mescho Dunko of M-MAG gym in Kirkintilloch for having Dougie to present their biannual 'Friday Fight Night' promotion.
The sellout crowd were treated to eight explosive Muay Thai contests in what was a highly entertaining evening.
Fight Sport MC is already looking forward to their next event, currently penciled in for sometime in September.

May 8th, Kilmarnock Grand Hall, 'Rising Starts of Combat'

Fight Sport MC would like to thank Ally Smith of Wossobama and David Bowie of Kilmarnock Muay Thai for having Dougie to present their annual 'Rising Stars of Combat' promotion.
This action packed evening showcased 18 bouts and had the 800+ strong crowd on the edge of their seats throughout.
Well done guys on a great and professionally run event!

May 1st, Power of Scotland 8, Lagoon Centre, Paisley

With sixteen bouts matched, POS8 was always going to be a long day.
Stand out performances from this event were Jordan Calder, Kieren McCaskill, Ritchie Hocking and the still undefeated Jojo Calderwood.
Biggest respect however goes to Davy Mac and his opponent John Dick whose much anticipated bout would finally put an end to the 'who is number 1' debate. With Davy already in the ring and John stepping through the ropes, the fire alarm went off and the building was evacuated.
After atleast half an hour in the carpark, centre staff allowed fans to return inside the venue and the bout was to go ahead.
Five glorious rounds of thaiboxing followed with Davy Mac taking a majority points decision and becoming undisputed UK No1. Congratulations Davy and I've no doubt that the hugely talented John Dick will be back.
Fight Sport MC would like to thank Gary O'Brien for once again having Dougie to present the show and a special thanks goes to the fans who waited for the final bout and created what I think was the best atmosphere of the night.

March 27th, MEN Arena, Manchester

The World Famous Manchester Evening News Arena in the past has played host to The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Mike Tyson, Ricky Haton, Joe Calzaghe and countless other world class performers in various fields of sports and entertainment.

On Saturday night however, it was Fight Sport MC's big moment as 'MSA Muay Thai Premier League' touched down for one night in Manchester.

This, the biggest event in UK Muay Thai history held it's audience (thousand's strong) completely captivated as the best Muay Thai fighters in the country tested themselves against the cream of foreign and domestic opponents.

The audience had plenty to be proud of too as all five of the 'ten fight card' were victorious against their international opponentsand even the domestic undercard held a few surprises.

All in all, it was a fantastic event with a never before seen production quality including pyrotechnics, dancers, lights, lasers, flames etc.

It looks now more than ever that 'MSA Muay Thai Premier League' are pioneering the future of UK Muay Thai.

March 6th, Kelham Hall, Newark

'History in the making 3' hosted by Newark Martial Arts was Fight Sport MC's first championship kickboxing event and what an event it was too. A total of ten contests including two white collar boxing bouts was headlined by Regis Sugden of Newark taking on the hugely talented Patrick Lee of Cardiff, Wales for the vacant EFK Junior World Kickboxing title.

After five action packed two minute rounds with the sellout crowd on the edge of their seats, the judges returned a split decision in favour of Regis who was composed throughout and finished strongly landing a beautiful spinning heel kick on the face of his opponent as the final bell rang.

Congratulations Regis (who now joins his older brother Chad and dad Dean in the world champions club).

Fight Sport MC would like to thank everyone at NMA for their hospitality and as always, the audience for making it such a memorable event.

Sat 20th Feb, Hostile Intentions, Hamilton

Hamilton's Sit Ayuthaya gym held their first promotion of the year on Saturday night and it was a stormer. The sell out crowd were treated to thirteen explosive contests including three bouts fought under Full Thai Rules.

The first of which was a European title decider between local favourite 'Wee' Paul Grant and Chris Wray of Pegasus gym in Leeds. The fight was in it's opening round when the Yorkshireman caught his Scottish opponent with a devastating right cross sending him through the ropes and bringing the contest to an early finish. Congratulations to Chris (and team) on becoming European Champion.

Scottish rising star Robin Downer of Douglas Muay Thai was next to step up as he took on the hugely experienced Mark Brown of Lumpini Thai boxing club in Crawley. This fantastic bout was to go the distance and although the young Downer gave a very strong account of himself, in the end it was the more experienced Brown who took a majority points decision. Congratulations Mark and well done Robin on stepping up and making a real fight of it.

Main Event and this time it was the turn of two top class and world ranked female fighters in what I believe was the First EVER ladies world title bout to be staged in Scotland. Scotland's Hilary Mack took on the hugely talented Maria Curricki of Spain and it was a measured start to this five round contest. As the rounds went on it was the ferocious knees of the girl from Scotland which began to open a margin. When Curricki came out in the fifth, she threw everything but the kitchen sink at Mack who was able to use her experience and ringcraft to confidently stay out of trouble until the final bell. The judges returned a unanimous decision in favour of the New World Champion, Scotland's Hilary Mack. Congratulations Hilary and team.

Finally, Fight Sport MC would like to thank promoter Stevie Nisbet and event manager Louise McLaughlin for all their help thoroughout this fantastic event. Fight Sport MC is already looking forward to the next Hostile Intentions show in November.

Jan 31st, Huyton Suites, Liverpool

2010 officially kicked off for Fight Sport MC at the weekend, with Dougie's first show of the year.
This mostly novice show was headlined by the exciting multi-title holder, Daiton Jackson facing a very determined and dangerous Frenchman, Kevin Goubinator. The sellout crowd were on the edge of their seats during the five rounds of this Full Muay Thai Rules bout. Congratulations to Daiton who took home an impressive points victory and still looks to be improving with every bout.
Big thanks to everyone at 'For the Glory of' promotions for all their hard work in making Sunday's show a success and Fight Sport MC is already looking forward to their next event on June 27th.

Previous year's bloggging

2009

My name is Douglas McAdam and I am a BBBC accredited Ring Announcer / Fight Sport MC.

Having been influenced at a very young age by iconic movies such as 'Rocky' and 'Karate Kid', I developed a keen interest in boxing and martial arts. I first attended my local boxing club followed by a local Tae Kwon Do club, Kick Boxing club and, finally, I participated in the ancient art of Muay Thai. My interest in Muay Thai has led me to visit Thailand many times now and as well as falling deeper in love with the sport, I have become a frequent visitor to 'the land of smiles' and even speak Thai to a good conversational level.

Having spent a few years attending a huge number of Fight Shows all over the UK, I quickly recognised the difference that a good MC could make. After speaking with a number of promoters, I established that there was definitely a gap in the market for someone fresh and new.

At time of writing, I have presented over fifty Fight Shows and have been lucky enough to introduce Scottish, British and World Champions. In doing so, I have also gathered some exceptionally positive feedback.

Why choose Douglas McAdam, Fight Sport MC?

I am reliable, punctual, well presented and well spoken with clear non-regional dialect. These qualities though, I think a promoter should expect of any good Ring Announcer / MC.

So what is my unique selling point?

Not only am I a fan of Combat Sports, I have also been accredited by the British Boxing Board of Control. Blending this passion with professional accreditation and having been involved with Boxing and Martial Arts for as long as I can remember, I bring a natural interest, energy and enthusiasm to your promotion that cannot be copied or reproduced.

Thank you for visiting my website and I look forward to working with you in the near future.

With Respect,
Douglas McAdam
